The year 2000 saw the Regiment celebrate the new year, the new century and the new millennium. We also had two soldiers serving with NATO in the Former Yugoslavia as it was now called, carrying on the service in that country started in 1994 by members of the Regiment serving there with the U.N.
On September 11th, 2001 the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. was attacked by a terrorist group, El Qaeda. Within weeks of the attack, the United States evoked the NATO Charter which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all members. After the initial Canadian deployment during the invasion of Afghanistan, Canada took a bit of a hiatus. In 2003 Canada was back in Afghanistan with NATO as part of Operation Athena. The Regiment sent three members to the operation, then based in Kabul. By the end of Canada’s involvement in Afghanistan, the Regiment would deploy many members, mostly to combat operations in the south of the country in Kandahar Province. Most were based on Kandahar Airfield with a few working out of the Provincial Reconstruction Team base located in Kandahar City.

During the summer of 2004 the Regiment left its old home for a new one on the west end of the city. The military would be sharing its new home with the Windsor Police Service.
On a breezy day in 2004 the Regiment, along with the Essex & Kent Scottish and the 21 Service Battalion marched to the new Armoury accompanied by the Windsor Police Service. The parade marched along Riverside Drive to Sandwich Street and into our new home.
There is a saying in the Regiment; Once a Windsor, Always a Windsor. There is a strong sense of Regimental pride and family.
The Regiment continues to train and as always they are SEMPER PARATUS-ALWAYS PREPARED .
